Our most frequently requested interior design service is the ‘Room Makeover’.
The Room Makeover is a great way of getting maximum impact for your interior design dollar, without the expense, hassle and time it takes to renovate a kitchen or bathroom.
Pulling together the design and decoration of a room sounds simple, but there is such complexity in choosing the right furniture layout, size and scale of furnishings, materiality, and the general styling or layering of the final details such as cushions and art. Add to that the amount of choice that exists when you start searching for the right piece, and the room makeover process can feel overwhelming; not to mention expensive if you make a mistake!
Often it’s a lounge or main bedroom that is the focus of Room Makeovers – both rooms where you spend a lot of time and want to feel the comfort and joy that great interior design can bring. However, since working from home has become more widespread, more and more often we are being asked to turn that tired ‘junk’ room into a multi-functional home office, come guest bedroom.
The definition of a Room Makeover be quite broad, from simply providing new furniture and soft furnishings (such as cushions and a rug) or it can also incorporate new window furnishings, paint, wallpaper, lighting and joinery. The scope is really up to you and your home’s requirements. Unless you want a complete refresh, we always love incorporating pieces that you love and mean something to you, these items can give a room real depth and personality.
Most of our Room Makeovers include a Schematic Layout, where we draw up your room to scale with the furnishings laid out, so you can see what pieces go where, and how much space there will be in the room. This is particularly important where a room is a tricky shape or you want to see what different room layout options are possible.
